It’s the start of the Lenten season in Antigua, the observance of the 40 days before Jesus death and resurrection, culminating in Easter. The streets of Antigua are filled with colorful alfombras “carpets” of flowers, sawdust, and vegetables. Elaborate processions happen every weekend during this time. #trekarooing
