Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi

To me, one of the most beautiful and moving places in Italy is the Basilica of Saint Francis, an ode to a humble servant to others. The Franciscan friars give tours of the basilica. “For it is in giving that we receive.” -Francis of Assisi #trekarooing #familytrip #familytravel #travelwithkids #takeyourkidseverywhere #assisi #visititalia #visititaly #italy #italia #lpkids #parentswhowander #travel

Bridge of Sighs – Venice, Italy

View from the Bridge of Sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri). This enclosed bridge connected the legal chambers of the Doges Palace to the prison. Prisoners walked this enclosed walkway after their sentencing on the way to the prison next door. The name suggests that prisoners would sigh as they saw their last glimpse of beautiful Venice. #trekarooing #familytrip #familytravel #travelwithkids #takeyourkidseverywhere #venice #visititalia #visititaly #italy #italia #lpkids #parentswhowander

Dolomiti

The community where we are staying in the Dolomiti has a spring. The neighbors use it to keep their watermelons cool. #trekarooing #familytrip #familytravel #travelwithkids #takeyourkidseverywhere #dolomites #dolomiti #italy #italia #watermelon #anguria #anguria

Casearia Corradi Parmesano Reggiano

We’re excited about authentic Parmesano Reggiano! Enjoyed a tour (and tasting 🙂 of the family owned artisanal Casearia Corradi cheese maker which has used the same processes since the middle ages.
